Is the United States safer today than before the 9/11 attacks?

Twenty-five years after 9/11, a slim majority in recent polling says America feels less safe, not more. Counterterror architecture is huge, but Iran war spillover and domestic threat vibes keep the anxiety meter hot. Safer — or just differently scared?
