Information we collect

ppoll collects the information you provide when you create an account, sign in, create polls, vote, add options, or post comments. This may include your name, email address, profile image, poll content, votes, comments, points, and basic account activity.

If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from Google, such as your name, email address, and profile image. We do not receive your Google password.

If you use ppoll before creating an account, we create a guest profile with a generated public name. Its votes, points, comments, likes, option suggestions, basic session data, and activity history are stored in the same way as account activity.

How we use information

We use your information to provide authentication, display your profile, operate polls and voting, calculate points, prevent abuse, improve the service, and maintain security.

Cookies and sessions

ppoll uses cookies and similar session storage to keep you signed in and protect authentication flows. Vercel Analytics may collect privacy-focused usage information in production.

Guest sessions normally remain active for up to seven days and may be refreshed while you use the service. Guest activity is retained unless it is transferred to an account or deleted.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help run ppoll, including hosting, database, authentication, analytics, and infrastructure providers. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the service and its users.

Your choices

You may stop using ppoll at any time. You may request account or data deletion by contacting us at contact@ppoll.org. Some information may be retained where required for security, legal, or operational reasons.

When a guest creates an account or signs in, guest activity is transferred to that account. If both profiles voted on the same poll, the existing account vote is kept.
